So what do they do? Ankle Guards provide additional support to stop the rolling of ankles and to prevent hyper extension of the feet. But that’s not all, they also provide compression which reduces swelling on the odd occasion when an elbow or knee is kicked and they provide a couple millimeters of buffer between a foot and shin and an old torn Thai pad or punching bag which will reduce redness and scratches.
